Edging and Mulching

Mulch is an easy inexpensive way to improve the look of your landscape. Mulching around trees not only cleans up the look and hides unsightly tree roots.  It also prevents any damage that could occur from mowers or string trimmers near plants. While instantly gives your landscape a beautiful, finished appearance, the advantages go far beyond simply elevating the look or value of your home or business.

Acting as an insulator, mulch helps regulate soil temperatures. While regulating temperatures, it allows water to penetrate to the roots of established plants.  As an insulator, it slows evaporation of the water in the soil. Moreover, the mulch blocks light from reaching the soil surface needed for germinating weeds.  By blocking light mulch reduces weed infiltration in your planting beds. Finally, in the winter, mulch helps to moderate soil temperatures to protect plants from freezes and thaws.

Often used on our new planting jobs, mulch not only has an aesthetic appeal, but to retain the moisture that new plants need. Mulching around the plants also extends our planting season.  We can plant evergreens well into the fall and even the winter with a thick layer of mulch to insulate them.
